Welcome to the pattern creator directory!

Here you can find a list of small and independant pattern creators. You can find patterns that are beginner friendly all the way up to the more compelex for the more experienced sewist.

Style Arc - I love style arc patterns! I have collected up so many. They have such a big selections to choose from in both women’s clothing and kids clothing.

They have pattern that range from easy to expert which means you can purchase patterns to grow with your skill level.

They also have tutorials which can help work your way out of trickier elements. Most of the tutorials are picture based but they also have a YouTube channel for some additional support.

Small Museum - I am obsessed with the patterns that small museum has released!

They are bold and look so comfy and size inclusive. I have made the Tate Romper and can confirm that this is as comfy as it looks.

Ford and Guy - They sell ethical, handmade clothing and as part of their sustainable practices they also sell their designs as sewing patterns.

The size ranges of the patterns go from size 6 to 30, so pretty size inclusive! The skill level of these patterns also ranges from beginner to intermediate so there’s something for everyone.

I really love the patterns here as they are always a little elevated and different.

Tiana Herring Patterns - Ok, I LOVE these patterns, they are size inclusive, great instructions for adventurous beginners and up!

I have made the Junie Jumpsuit and it was a dream to sew and it’s super comfy. Tiana’s patterns also gives you great instructions to adjust patterns to your body shape, which is awesome and increases your skills as you learn.

Paper Theory - Their focus is on creating sewing patterns that help you create a sustainable wardrobe.

Their pattern size range is from UK 6 - 28 but they are working on increasing this too.

If you are working on their patterns and do get stuck, they do have a tutorial section that should help!

Madswick - The patterns here are stunning!

They are size inclusive, they have 15 inclusive sizes: bust 32”(81cm)-60”(150cm) .

They have a lot of beginner friendly patterns, so really worth a look!

The Good Murph - Small but mighty! The patterns are super super cute. I have the bonnie top in my list of things to sew. All patterns are PDF, so you will need to be able to print. Find a good print shop if you aren’t into taping A4 pieces together.

Sizing goes from a UK 4- 30 , so a good range!

Megan Nielsen Patterns - These are another great contender for a capsule wardrobe. They have some really lovely patterns for everyday use.

Their size range is from size UK 0 to 30.

They have a great library of sew along video’s which should help you through your sewing.

Soft Bodies - This is a great little pattern creator with a focus on playful garments. They only have a few patterns on offer at the moment but they are beautiful and worth keeping an eye on.

Check out the visual size guide as well which shows their patterns on multiple different body types. This is an amazing resource!

Their size range from XXS to 7X, so really size inclusive!

Spaghetti Western Sewing - On their website they note -Home sewing patterns for 1940’s spaghetti western prairie disco goatherd-ess nonno-core alpine ski lodge kinda people.’ And if that appeals then you’re for an absolute treat!

Pattern sizes range from 3XS to 3XL.

They have patterns for beginners and beyond. I particularly love the Henrietta skirt, as its a great quick pattern with a lot of impact!

K.S Garner - They are a slow fashion brand but they also sell a few lovely sewing patterns.

All the patterns they sell at the moment are noted as having a skill level that is beginner friendly or confident beginner. So a great choice if you are just starting out.

The sizing here ranges from XXS to 4XX.

Tilly and the Buttons - They make fun, accessible, and beginner-friendly sewing patterns. The patterns are really lovely and have clear step-by-step photos to help you through.

There are lots of beginner patterns so great place to start! The sizing here ranges from UK 4 - 34. They also have a whole section for plus size patterns.

Seasons of the East - There are a lovely collection of patterns here that you can purchase in PDF or paper versions. There are a really good collection of dress patterns here with such pretty silhouettes. All patterns come with step by step instructions with photo’s to help you through.

They have patterns that would be good for a confident beginner!

Sizes range from UK 8 - 26.

Sew Different - This pattern company has a variety of beautiful patterns. Their brand known for its simple, contemporary patterns. There is a big selection so worth have a good look around!

They have both PDF and paper pattern options.

Sizes range from UK 8 - 28.

Syd Graham Patterns - Syd’s patterns are great if you are new to sewing and are starting to build your confidence.

Her patterns come with great instructions and video tutorials to help you on the parts you may find trickier.

They are great patterns even if you aren’t a beginner too you’ll just be able to whiz through them more quickly!

Her website is also a great resource full of tool and machine recommendations, guides, patterns and much more.

Matchy Matchy Sewing Club - I have made so many of their patterns, they’re so playful and fun! They are so wonderful and they range in skill level from ‘first make’ to ‘intermediate’.

They have patterns that are great for patch work so are brilliant for using up your scraps!

They also sell fabric so you can get some absolutely beautiful fabric to make your patterns up with.

Paper Cut Patterns-If you want to sew a capsule wardrobe this is the place to look!

They have a great curve range of patterns which go up to a size 34. As well as the adult patterns they also have a selection of kids patterns.

Daughter Judy Patterns - These are stunning and I would say great contenders for a capsule wardrobe! They are size inclusive as well which is great.

Also if you are into knitting, they do also have some cute knitting patterns.

Viki Sews - This is a great place to get patterns if you’re starting out as they have really detailed instructions, step by step photos and video tutorials.

They have a relatively good size range from a UK 6 to 24.

They have a massive range of patterns. There is a a pattern of the day section where the pattern is 50% off. AND, They have a big section of online courses.

Tiana’s Closet - There are a really big variety of patterns here not only do they have women’s clothing patterns but also, kid patterns, and men’s clothing too.

Their size range goes from XXS to 5Xl.

There are a lot of beginner friendly patterns here. The first pattern I sewed was from here and I found it good starting point.

Lydia Naomi - These patterns are stunning! Lydia Naomi is a small independent creator but the patterns are very impactful.

She also offers drafts which are sewing patterns that are cheaper because they have been fast tracked through so don’t have as detailed instructions and may need some amending. These are a great option if you’re looking for a cheaper pattern. The full patterns come with photo instructions as well as having links to video tutorials.

Sizes range from XXS to 3XL.

Frux Studio - These patterns are beautiful and aren’t just clothing. They also have toy patterns for fabric fruit as well as lovely homeware patterns.

Their clothing patterns are noted as intermediate patterns, this is due to the pin tucks/ pleating elements. These patterns are absolutely stunning and worth a look.

Size range goes from size UK 0 to 26.

Studio Minapop - This is a small made to order slow fashion brand that also sell sewing patterns. The patterns on here are so cute and playful. They are really worth checking out and keeping an eye on for updates.

The sizes here range from XS to 3XL.

The difficulty level on these patterns goes up to advance beginner so they are a great place to look if you are pretty new to sewing and looking for a small challenge.

Katie Sews - The great thing about these patterns, I think, is that there are so many things you can do with one pattern! Katie puts in a lot of pattern variations so you can really use one pattern to make many different garments. Take a look, you’ll see what I mean!

Sizing ranges from XS to 5Xl , so a nice range here.

The difficulty of patterns range here with a dot system, so you can work out what works for you from this.

Ita Sewing Patterns - The patterns here are great! Most patterns here are beginner friendly. They have lovely step by step instructions. There is a good range to choose from and there are some really fun, playful pieces.

Sizes range from XXS to 3XL.

NH Patterns - There is a lovely selection of beautiful patterns here. There are some really lovely, elegant dress patterns if you are looking for something a bit elevated.

They sell both PDF and paper patterns as well as fabric. Lots to browse here!

Sizes range from UK 4 - 32.

Studio 7t7 - This sewing pattern company specialises in bag patters. There is a lovely range for all your bag needs, ranging from the practical to really fun and playful.

You can buy all the supplies here as well as the patterns to make your bag.

Cashmerette - This is by far the best place I can think of to get patterns if you are plus sized. This is a pattern creator focused on plus size! There is such a beautiful variety here! They have sections for you to shop by skill level which makes is really easy to find what you need.

There is so much information here so this is a great resource. There are books and a whole selection of classes. There is a whole range of classes for sewing for curves.

Size range - UK 0 -32

Trama Patterns - Is a small pattern creator with a really lovely group of staple patterns.

I have used Trama for their NOA jumpsuit pattern and loved it so much I’ve made it in a few different variations.

I would just highlight that the patterns don’t go up as far in sizing as some of the other pattern creators here. If you are plus sized (as I am) sometimes this can flag up some issues. I did have to work out my measurements and make my own size for this pattern.

Hubba Ding - The patterns made by this creator are fun with a comfy fit. There are a lot of very cute patterns with frilly details which I just love!

The patterns do have a decent size range but technically don’t go up to my size. That has meant that I’ve needed to get a bit creative with sizing up which with these patterns I didn’t find too difficult. If you aren’t confident in sizing up though there are many creators on this list that you shouldn’t need to do that with.

Friday Pattern Company - Their patterns are lovely and size inclusive. They have a whole section for beginner friendly patterns too which is great if you are starting out.

They also have a section of ‘pay what you can’ patterns which is great too! I have added some of these to my free pattern section so take a look!

The Modern Sewing Company - The patterns here are great, they are pretty size inclusive - the range from size UK 4 to 28.

They have some great patterns that aren’t clothing. Check out their zero waste pouffe which is a great way of using up your fabric scraps.

They also have online workshops so you can build on your sewing skills.

Sew Liberated - Their focus is on sustainability and slow fashion. They have course available that are centred around this.

Their sizing range is pretty great, going from a UK 0 to 34.

They have a great range of skill levels as well all the way up to advanced.

Sew Like- Not only are the patterns on here bold and beautiful but so is the fabric sold here!

Their sizes range from UK 2-44 , so a really great range!

The pattern variety is small but they really are worth a look because they are stunning. I am particularly in love with the panni shirt.

Flora Child - Their patterns are focused on children’s and women’s patterns. Their patterns tend to have flowy silhouettes , which are beautiful and artsy.

Most patterns on here will be achievable for a beginner, there aren’t too many advanced patterns.

Paradise Patterns - Really lovely range of summery sewing patterns here.

There is a good range of beginner patterns so really worth browsing if that’s where you are at.

Size ranges aren’t noted as numbers , they are based on your measurements, but there is a decent range.

Helen’s Closet Patterns - There are a great variety of patterns here to browse. The patterns range from clothing to aprons and bags. There have patterns suitable for beginners, really good place to look to know if you are starting out and beyond!

They are very size inclusive, with their range from UK 0 - 30.

The Common Stitch - Their main aim is to to spread the act of slow learning and sustainable fashion choices. They have a selection of PDF patterns as well as the option for paper patterns.

They have a big category range from women’s wear, baby and kids clothes and homewares.

Sizes range from AUS 6 - 24.

They have a selection of free patterns that are really worth checking out too! I have noted a few on my free pattern section but there are quite a few more.

They have a good range of difficulties too, so something for everyone.

The Bold One - The patterns are super lovely! The patterns here are focused on being accessible for beginners. All the patterns here are therefore beginner friendly, winner winner!

Sizes range - 6-30 NZ. Fits up to 141 cm / 55.5inch bust

The Avid Seamstress - They have a mixture of adult and child sewing patterns that can be purchased as paper or PDF’s. There is a lovely collection here that can fill your whole wardrobe.

They have a good amount of beginner friendly patterns.

Sizes range from UK 6 - 26.

Trend Patterns - There is a really lovely , fun collection of patterns here for you to explore. These can be purchased in as paper or PDFs. There is a good range of patterns here from waistcoats to trousers, dresses etc.

Sizes range here does vary a bit as some patterns are noted in S - XXL and some as UK 6 - 22.
